I just finished reading Stephenie Meyer's Eclipse.  It wasn't as good as I had hoped it'd be. She took too long to get to the plot, and spent way too much time on romancing, and Bella's idiotic struggle in trying to decide who she really loved. Give me a break. We know she loves Edward the most. Get over it and get more into the plot. I almost had to throw the book out the window several times because it got a little too mushy. She needs to remember that if she's going to do a horror/romance novel, to balance it out more between the two, especially if she wants to keep her male audience. Meyer does have talent, that I won't deny. She just needs to hone it more. I will read the last book at some point, but I need a break fom the series for a month or two. I heard the last book is different from the other three, so that gives me some hope she's improved. Maybe we can now get away fom the fight between Edward and Jacob over Bella. I did like what she did with Edward in this book by not making him so controlling this time. The other thing that annoyed me a bit was this constant struggle between Edward and Bella over if they should sleep together or not, and at what given time. First, she wants him now, but Edward doesn't. Then Edward wants her now, but Bella decides it's better to wait to "do the right thing." Huh? No consistency. I give Book Three two out of five stars. Sorry, Steph, I was expecting better.
